Description
The marriage partners, their parents (if alive), the witnesses present at the marriage
ceremony, the presiding marriage officer/pastor are all there to witness and celebrate the
happy occasion.
The marriage act is one that was mentioned in the Bible and is usually prescribed by
the law of the land. The marriage officer can also be the pastor who has a marriage
license.
The partners should love one another, otherwise the marriage can be one of
convenience.
Children are a natural outcome of marriage and are truly blessed by God, the Father
and Jesus, the Son.
Marriages are based on life-long mutual trust and loving attitudes. When marriage is
proposed between two couples and their parents, it is to be considered as a sacred trust
before God. There are, however, five things lacking in many marriages:
Respect for the partner.
Respect for the partner’s role.
Respect for the intimate privileges of marriage.
Respect for the secrets and intimate confidences between the partners
Respect for the requirements of God from the partners.
Love conquers all – not sex.
Scripture is quoted from the New King James Version. To get the full benefit of these
